Every year, ski champion Mikaela Shiffrin creates quite the show on the slopes. But without access to train, she’s exploring some of her other talents – like bringing her guitar and vocal skills to social media. Among the most active sportswomen in promoting fundraising to combat the coronavirus epidemic, she has also dedicated a song to all those essential workers who are on the front line helping us get through this moment – particularly for those who continue to work despite the crisis to help us get food for our families. Entitled #AMsg4You, Shiffrin’s song is dedicated to Italy – a country she’s personally attached to – with a special thanks to the employees of one of the largest companies in our country: Barilla.
Hear it live on Monday, April 20th at 11 am MDT / 7 pm CEST – when Mikaela will sing it on Instagram Live (@mikaelashiffrin). This will be a particularly special live broadcast because the Olympic champion will also answer five questions from the community after her performance!
"#AMsg4You is a message to my Barilla family," said Shiffrin when she first unveiled her song on social media, thanking "the heroes who are now doing a great job" putting the needs of the community before their own to produce pasta and many other products. "We are with you," says the song, "Even when we’re apart. We'll come together – and together, we’ll make it through.”
