If you are a wine lover, take note of these dates: July 24-25, 2020. These are the days in which you’ll have the opportunity to take one (or more!) excellent bottle(s) of wine home – from the extraordinary collection of the famous “Restaurant Man” and wine expert Joe Bastianich. Bastianich’s collection features bottles directly from production cellars, often bottled especially for his restaurant Del Posto in New York City.

We’re talking 30,000+ bottles of fine and rare wines including encyclopedic offers of Italian treasures such as Gaja, Conterno, Rinaldi, Bartolo Mascarello, Ornellaia, Sassicaia and others – almost too good to be true! Let's go into a little more detail. Among the rarities and encyclopedic vintages from the most important producers that make up the history of Italian wine, this special auction boasts more than 3,000 lots for an impressive bid that includes, among others, selections of Barolo and Barbaresco by Bruno Giacosa, Angelo Gaja, Bartolo Mascarello, Giacomo Conterno, and Giuseppe Rinaldi; Super Tuscans from Tenuta dell'Ornellaia, Sassicaia and Tignanello; as well as a very rare selection of Burgundy with Domaine de la Romanée-Conti for a total estimated excess value between $3.1 and $4.5 million dollars.
Worth mentioning for the connoisseurs are the vertical Monfortino Riserva and Giacomo Conterno – with bottles that tell the history of the winery from 1941 to 2013 (also through some rare larger formats), the Barolo Giuseppe Rinaldi 1964 and the Recioto della Valpolicella Classico Gran Riserva by Giuseppe Quintarelli 1983. Then there’s the Sassicaia, Tenuta San Guido 1985, the Masseto Tenuta dell'Ornellaia 2005 Magnum or the Marsala Riserva Superiore by Marco De Bartoli of 1860. The complete catalogue of the sale can be found on Hart Davis Hart's website.

"It is with a mixture of sadness and pride that we decided to put a part of this impressive collection on the market," says Joe Bastianich, "These are bottles that represent a part of me, of my history, of my soul dedicated to wine. But the time has come. I'm happy to be able to share these wines, and especially these vintages, with the world. I hope they will find interested palates who can fully enjoy them.”
The auction will be held on Friday, July 24, and Saturday, July 25 at the internationally renowned auction house and wine retailer Hart Davis Hart Wine Co. Bidders will be able to use the HDH platform available via their mobile or online app to place their bids remotely and live.

Important note: Part of the proceeds will be donated to one or more charities for projects dedicated to children in the United States, to be determined at the end of the auction.
