After a year of travel and tastings looking for authentic Italian flavor on 5 continents, it has finally released its latest selection of the best Italian addresses abroad. New York stands head high among the most awarded cities, such as Tokyo, Paris and Copenhagen.
Feroce, located in Manhattan’s Chelsea neighborhood, was named Best New Opening. Run by an all-Italian team helmed by Francesco Panella, this original concept featuring an Italian-style bar, posh restaurant and vintage pizzeria wins hands down. In the midst of this Pizza Napoletana wave, Panella chose to bring the traditional Pizza Romana by Rome’s Antico Forno Roscioli to the Big Apple. We are not shy in repeating that its success lies in the faithful Italian gastronomic offer supported by excellent ingredients - including the mouth-watering Paccheri al Pomodoro and the delightfully crisp Cotoletta alla Milanese. Behind the success of this all-Italian formula is the Panella family, who opened Antica Pesa in Rome in 1922 followed by an outpost in Brooklyn in 2012. Feroce opened in early 2019, a perfect prototype of a new Italian restaurant that strikes just the right balance between tradition and innovation.
