If you can’t sit through another Netflix show, but want recipe inspiration and pasta-making techniques, this mini video series, Shape of Pasta by chef Evan Funke, might hit the spot.
Starring the American chef from LA’s Felix Trattoria, Shape of Pasta debuts next month on Quibi, a new website for short videos. Chef Funke travels across Italy, meeting pasta masters and relaying the details of lesser-known pastas made by hand. While the pasta-makers take their time, avoiding machine-made pasta, the episodes clip along. Each one lasts less than 10 minutes.

Aside from obsessively making smooth translucent sheets of pasta on Instagram and running a top restaurant, Chef Funke can be seen giving book talks. Last fall, his first cookbook, “American Sfoglino: A Master Class in Handmade Pasta,” came out in bookstores and won acclaim from other pasta-loving authors, like Katie Parla.
