Despite a challenging Spring with a takeaway menu so popular it caused a ruckus, New York City’s Carbone restaurant fulfilled the Italian food cravings of both stay-at-homers and Hamptonites this summer. Now, they plan on expanding.
Just this week, the Dallas Morning News reported that Carbone, holder of 1 Michelin star, will launch a new location in the Lone Star state, giving Texans a chance to enjoy some of New York’s mid-century Italian-American dishes with a luxurious twist.
In 2013, Restaurant Critic Pete Wells of the New York Times praised Founders Jeff Zalaznick and Chef Mario Carbone for helping “...New Yorkers shake off any snobby quibbles about “authenticity” and rediscover the pleasures of classic red-sauce cuisine.”
Investor Stephen Summers described the venture as a “big coup” for the Dallas dining scene. The restaurant, which belongs to the Major Food Group, has found a home in the Dallas’ Design District. Doors are expected to open this winter.
