1 box of Barilla Collezione® Spaghetti*
a large clove of garlic, chopped fine
dried chili flakes
extra virgin olive oil
salt
chopped fresh parsley
How to prepare it
Step 1: Water and pasta
As the sauce will only take a few minutes to cook, first order of business is preparing the pasta!
Fill a deep pot with 4-6 quarts of water, put a lid on it and bring it to a boil.
Step 2: Spaghetti time
Once the water is boiling, add about a tablespoon of salt and Barilla Collezione® Spaghetti. Keep an eye on the cooking time. For best result with aglio olio e peperoncino it’s essential that the pasta is drained al dente. Barilla Collezione® Spaghetti has a rough, porous surface with a texture similar to homemade pasta, therefore we recommend to drain at least 1 minute before its recommended cooking time to enjoy a restaurant-quality pasta experience at home!
Step 3: Get that pan out
While the spaghetti is cooking, pour a generous amount of extra virgin olive oil (about six tablespoons) in the fry pan, add the garlic and chili, and fry it gently. When it is starting to sizzle, reduce the heat and add the parsley, three tablespoons of pasta cooking water and a pinch of salt.
Step 4: Buon appetito!
The time has come to add your pasta! Quickly drain the pasta and stir it into the fry pan. Sauté for 2 of minutes until the pasta is well coated. Serve immediately.
