We’ve all heard about chocolate salami – the easy-to-make Italian dessert that we especially love to pair with hot tea on cold afternoons. Especially since it takes so little time to make! But what if we told you that you can make chocolate salami in cake form? That’s right – instead of the canonical salami form (cylindrical and elongated), serve it as a classic cake. It’s really just a question of aesthetics, though – since it doesn’t affect the goodness of the original ingredients.

Chocolate salami cake
Ingredients:
11 oz | 300 g dry cookies or sweet biscuits
1 cup | 200 g dark chocolate
1 cup | 100 g sugar
⅔ cup | 150 g butter or margarine
¼ cup | 30 g bitter cocoa powder
Method:
This recipe takes about 20 minutes. Start by melting the butter and chocolate in separate saucepans over low heat. In the meantime, crumble the cookies, then place them in a bowl with the sugar and add the melted butter and chocolate. Knead with your hands.
At the end, add the bitter cocoa to the mixture. Line a cake tin with plastic wrap and pour the mixture in. Level it using the back of a spoon. Place the cake tin in the fridge for a couple of hours to let it harden. Before serving, sprinkle with more cocoa powder.
